Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd points out rude blunder on soap as cuddly toy’s bow tie looks like a man’s privates

AS a Coronation Street regular of 20 years, Jack P Shepherd is no stranger to being caught up in extraordinary scenes worthy of a pause or replay.

But the actor, who plays David Platt, got more than he bargained for when an eagle-eyed viewer stopped her telly at an eyebrow-raising moment.

During a This Morning segment about Corrie, the soap fan spotted something that would make Norris Cole’s specs steam over.

The screenshot shows Jack, 32, in character holding on to a giant plush rabbit’s pink bow tie. in such a way that it resembles meat and two veg.

It’s enough to get the Rovers’ Hotpot boiling over!

The moment was part of a teaser for the soap’s upcoming Christmas Day episode – on which David will celebrate his 30th birthday.

Jack was left red-faced by the awkward still, posted to all and sundry on Twitter by Vicky Corbley (@vicky_corbley86).

She sent the moment over to Jack and the Corrie team, writing: “What a time to pause.”

In a cheeky response, Jack – who has pleaded ignorance about the stunt, wrote: “I had no idea it resembled anything. Honest. “

Some of his co-stars responded with Charlie De Melo, who is Imran Habeeb on the soap, quipping: “Pull the other one, mate.”

Meanwhile Kate Ford, who plays Tracy McDonald, simply wrote: “Ha!!!”

Jack has two children with ex Lauren Shippey who he was with from 2002 to 2017 – a daughter, Nyla, born in 2009 and a son, Reuben, born in 2013.

He had another child, a son named Greyson who he has reportedly never met, after a one-night stand in 2010.

Jack, who lives with long-term love Hanni Treweek, recently revealed he was the ‘DJ’ at his sister’s 20-minute ‘Covid-wedding’.

He told the Sofa Cinema Club podcast how he played Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen on his phone as his sister walked down the aisle.

“My sister got married so I’ve been to a Covid wedding,” he said. “There was 15 people including the bride and groom.

“I got lumbered with being DJ. She said, ‘I’m going down the aisle to Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen, you need to play it on your phone’.”

He joked that the “in and out” wedding lasted 20 minutes, and meant there was nobody there that the bride didn’t want to invite and it was a case of “20 minutes and then you’re on the motorway. Done.”

Jack’s Corrie character David lives with other half Shona, along with daughter Lily and his stepson Max – with his murdered fiancee Kylie Turner’s.

His long-suffering mum Gail also lives with them at number 8.

David bought the house, which was his family home growing up, after Gail was taken in by a conman.
