A COUNTDOWN hopeful has broken the show’s record by achieving the maximum score possible.
During today’s episode of the hit Channel 4 game show fans were left stunned as one contestant broke records.
Countdown’s latest conundrum broke show records
Colin Murray and Rachel Riley presented the programme as contestants Tom Stevenson and Ben Timi Nuga competed.
Tom had previously featured on the show and already made history by achieving the highest score.
Now, he’s done it again during the Countdown Conundrum round.
Both hopefuls had to work out what the combination of words which were ‘recounsel’ spelt out.
Less than 10 seconds into the round Tom pressed his bell and correctly guessed the word was ‘enclosure’
Host Colin screamed “yes!” as the Countdown audience erupted which cheers and claps for Tom.
“1,000 points exactly and the first Countdown contestant ever to not lose a single round,” Colin said.
He added: “Tom Stevenson – absolutely sensational!”
Speaking about his win, Tom said: “I’m gobsmacked really but I’ve had a really great time and thanks to the crew both on-camera and off-camera.”
