WITH Lloyd still in a coma, Dan Spencer is left to face the consequences of his assault without his statement.
But due to the newcomer’s critical condition, the Emmerdale mechanic played by Liam Fox makes a shock decision in court.
Dan Spencer faces assault charges
His daughter Amelia is left devastated next week
Will he really go to prison?
Dan Spencer is facing serious trouble with the law after punching Lloyd in an attempt to protect his daughter Amelia (portrayed by Daisy Campbell).
The troubled character became obsessed with the teen after spotting her online makeup tutorials online and rocked up the Dales to meet her.
Things took a turn when it was clear he was ready to take advantage of her in Mandy Dingle’s beauty salon, prompting Dan to reach out to the police – but their involvement amounted to nothing.
ITV viewers have been kept at the edge of their seats as it remains unclear if Lloyd will make it out of his coma.
With Lloyd’s life hanging in the balance, Dan is mortified at the thought that he could face a murder charge as he’s already been charged with GBH.
But in scenes airing next week, nurse Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) tells him they might be bringing Lloyd out of his coma and his mind races.
Meanwhile, Lloyd’s distraught wife Julie verbally attacks Amelia.
Amelia’s thrown when Julie’s rage turns to tears, revealing that Lloyd isn’t coming out of his coma.
The teen girl is left in turmoil as a raging Julie exits, determined to bring her down.
Later, a panicked Amelia unloads on to her friend Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) and Amelia’s left pondering when she suggests she lies about Lloyd assaulting her to help Dan avoid dire consequences.
Sarah has a change of heart, worried about Amelia going through with the lie but Amelia’s resolved to do what it takes to protect her father.
Soon, Dan’s questioning Sarah on Amelia’s whereabouts and she breaks, blaming herself for what her friend is about to do.
Frantic Dan and Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) rush out but fear they won’t get to Amelia in time.
A terrified Amelia braces herself to make a statement to the police – but will she really go through with Sarah’s idea?
In later scenes, Dan is stressed as he waits for his hearing to start and Amelia’s face darkens to see Julie arrive.
As the court is announced, Dan braces himself for what’s to come and glancing at Julie, he’s met with an overwhelming sense of guilt.
Struck by his memories of hitting Lloyd, a wretched Dan pleads guilty and Amelia is unable to face her father after his plea.
What will be the verdict?
