Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens looks unrecognisable during shock appearance on The One Show

DOWNTON Abbey actor Dan Stevens looked unrecognisable during a shock appearance on The One Show.

The actor appeared on the evening programme last night alongside Derry Girls’ Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell.

Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens looked totally different on The One Show last night

Dan starred in the show between 2010 and 2012

During his segment on the show Dan, 39, opted for a bright yellow t-shirt, navy blazer and matching trousers.

His chosen attire perfectly showed off his slim frame.

The star also rocked an impressive moustache and has changed his hair to a darker colour, and grown it out.

Dan looks very different from his Downton days.

He took on the role of Matthew Crawley in the ITV show between 2010 and 2012.

His alter-ego was killed off in a car crash.

Dan is now a movie star and has lost a lot of weight for a number of roles.

Speaking about dropping the pounds back in 2013, he told Graham Norton: “I’ve lost about 30 pounds since New Year, which, in British terms, is about two or three chins.

“It was for a role. It’s always me, just different incarnations, different roles, different costumes and different sizes.

“As for the hair, it’s pretty much my natural colour. I went very dark for the last role, but I’ll see where I go with it.”

After Downton, Dan, his wife Susie Hariet and their three kids Willow, Eden and Aubrey moved to New York so he could star in The Heiress.

Two years later he was cast in the movie The Guest in which he played a recently discharged army veteran who goes on a killing spree to protect his true identity.

Dan also starred in the comedy-drama movie The Cobbler and then the dark action film A Walk Among the Tombstones.

He then played Sir Lancelot in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.

Dan was then cast as the Beast in Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast alongside Emma Watson as Belle.

He also stars as David Charles Haller in the FX and Marvel Television series Legion, the first TV series to be connected to the X-Men film series.

Since Downton, Dan has appeared in a number of TV shows including High Maintenance, SuperMansion, Legion, Solos and The Crown.
