DRAGONS’ Den’s Sara Davies has revealed the baffling secret behind her and Deborah Meaden’s outfits.

The two women are always smartly turned out for the hit BBC show, in tailored suits or flattering dresses.

Sara is joining Strictly this year

Their outfits are always completed with a pair of high heels, but Sara, 37, has revealed all is not as it seems when it comes to their wardrobe.

During a chat with the media about her upcoming appearance in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, Sara was asked if dancing in high heels on the show would be a doddle considering the shoes she wears in the Den.

But she replied: “So, in Dragons’ Den, I don’t know if you realise, but what they do is – we walk around in our slippers all day, and then the shoes are put on set!

“We come onto set in our slippers and then wardrobe take the slippers and we put our shoes on.

“So I don’t actually walk around in those shoes other than sometimes getting up to walk around in the Den.”

She continued: “As soon as they stop filming we put the slippers back on, so I don’t even walk around in [heels], let alone be dancing in them!”

Sara isn’t the first Dragon to take part in Strictly, as co-star Deborah, 62, took part in the 2013 series.

Sara revealed her fellow Dragon had given her plenty of advice ahead of her Strictly debut.

She said: “Obviously Deborah did the show, and we’ve spent many a long morning in wardrobe and makeup together, and I ask her all about it!

“She said to me, ‘They might ask you one year’, and I’m like, ‘I really hope they do!’. She said it was just the best experience of her life. She loved the dancing, the community, the atmosphere.

“She said, ‘If you do get the chance to do it, just embrace it with both arms, you will absolutely love it.'”
