But her health continues to deteriorate

Actress Danielle Harold has filmed her last scenes as Lola Pearce after a decade in the EastEnders line-up.

The beloved hairstylist was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour and had been more determined than ever to make happy memories with her loved ones as her time quickly runs out.

In recent scenes of the BBC One drama, she admitted defeat as her condition made it impossible for her to work at Fox & Hare, despite her best intentions.

Coming up next week, Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) organises a leaving karaoke party for Lola at the salon but her anxiety gets the best of her.

Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) saves the day with her swanky karaoke machine but the events of the day soon become too much for Lola and she secretly retreats outside.

Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) soon realise that Lola is missing and begin to panic when they can’t find her.

Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) and Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) join the search until the market trader finds his granddaughter on the floor outside the gym.

Lola is clearly confused and, later at home, she’s sent into a panic of her own when her speech and mobility are impaired.

As her health deteriorates and the tumour takes over, Lola wakes up in hospital, weakened by her condition, and learns some devastating news – her palliative chemotherapy treatment hasn’t worked.

Jay soon decides to break Lola out of the hospital to enjoy a fun-filled day at the seaside.

Lola spots a ruby necklace which she hopes to buy for Lexi as a 16th birthday present – but could she run out of time beforehand?

Viewers are waiting for Lola’s final scenes to air on their screens after learning that her funeral has already been filmed.

How will Lola’s goodbye play out?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
