EASTENDERS fans rejoiced last night when the Carters’ family dog Lady Di returned to the square.
Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) was seen with the beloved pooch during Thursday’s episode of the BBC One soap.
Mick and Linda Carter’s bulldog Lady Di made an epic return to the soap last night
EastEnders viewers were delighted when they spotted the canine, who made her debut in 2013 alongside her owners, for the first time in a year.
“LADY DI IS STILL ALIVE” one thrilled fan said as another joked: “Love to see Lady Di out for her annual walk.”
Another said: “Lady Di having her first walk in 6 years”
Her return could be a good omen for Mick and estranged wife Linda.
It coincides with another EastEnders comeback storyline for Sid Owen‘s return as Ricky Butcher.
It’s been over a decade since he last stepped foot in Albert Square, but Ricky is on his way back as Sid is set to reprise his iconic role for a stint later this year.
His arrival on the square could drive a wedge between Mick Carter and Janine, which could possibly spark a reunion with Linda.
Executive producer, Chris Clenshaw, said: “Ricky is home and Janine is here in a relationship with Mick.
“We’re building to something very climatic between them, but Janine really has got her everything in Mick and the Vic.
“But obviously we all know how strong the bond is between Mick and Linda, and the love they have runs very very deep.
“But we know what Janine is like and what Janine is capable of. I won’t give away exactly how he [Sid] comes back it plays into Janine’s story.”
Sid’s return storyline will be part of Janine’s current situation with Mick and Linda
