FANS of EastEnders will be able to binge-watch all of the week’s episodes in one sitting — in a telly first for Albert Square.
Four helpings of the BBC One soap will be uploaded to iPlayer on a Monday morning for three weeks, starting in a fortnight.
The EastEnders schedule will be shuffled about until well into next month because the soap clashes with games in the delayed 2020 Euros football tournament.
Bosses say the “exciting” box-set development will put viewers “in control of their Walford watching”.
Executive producer Jon Sen said: “From indulging them all in one night, staggering across a few days or continuing to watch the episodes play out on BBC1, we hope the endless options keeps viewers content.”
The show’s overnight viewing figures are down by up to 37 per cent year on year.
However show chiefs say the soap is one of the most popular shows on the iPlayer.
Production stopped in 2020 due to Covid but since its return last September it has been streamed more than 196 million times.
Danny Dyer plays pub landlord Mick Carter and Letitia Dean is Sharon Watts in the soap, which has aired since 1985.
