GRAY Atkins put his plan into action last night as he registered his son Jordan’s birth alone.
However, EastEnders viewers were puzzled and wondered how the serial killer could do so in the absence of his wife Chelsea.
The beautician portrayed by Zaraah Abrahams has been trying to leave her husband (Toby-Alexander Smith).
In recent episodes of the BBC drama, Chelsea has tried to register their son’s birth without Gray in a bid to cut ties with him.
Unfortunately for her, Gray was one step ahead of her and registered the birth without Chelsea in yesterday’s instalment.
This left Chelsea feeling distraught but amid her heartbreak, fans of the soap were confused and questioned whether a father really could register his child’s birth alone in all legality.

Baffled EastEnders viewers all took their confusion to Twitter with one writing: “it’s against the law for a dad to register a birth without the mother? Gray wouldn’t have been allowed?”
One startled viewer chimed in: “I didn’t know dads could register the birth on their own.”
“Thought mums register the birth? So confused”, wrote a third social media user.
“Didn’t think fathers could register the child’s birth without the mother”, penned another viewer.
A fifth commented: “He shouldn’t have been allowed to register the birth without Chelsea there. You can’t put the father’s name on the birth certificate without them there. Should go both ways!”
However, according to the UK Government either parent can register a child’s birth on their own and can include both parents’ details if the couple are married or in a civil partnership.
Chelsea and Gray have been married since EastEnders’ Christmas special.
Another detail was bashed by one person who thought it peculiar that, when she went to the register office, Chelsea was able to find out that Jordan’s birth had already been taken into account.
“Are you seriously trying to tell me we’re expected to believe a registrar would give out personal information about a previously registered birth?”, the user wrote.
The blunder couldn’t hide Chelsea’s despair.
Although she as teamed up with Whitney (Shona McGarty) and Kheerat (Jaz Deol) to expose Gray, last night’s episode of EastEnders left viewers fearing for Chelsea’s safety.
Chelsea appeared to have given up all hope for a new start away from Gray as she found out he had registered Jordan’s birth alone.
But fans are speculating that Gray could soon meet a horrific fate.
