AFTER taking a backseat from all the drama in Albert Square, Kheerat Panesar gets a shock from his family.
Next week in EastEnders, the businessman is pushed into an arranged marriage.
Since his first appearance in Walford, Kheerat Panesar (portrayed by Jaz Deol) has prioritised his work life over romance.
He initially had a connection with hairdresser Chantelle Atkins but this was cut short when she was murdered by her abusive husband Gray and the businessman has been grieving for her since.
But in recent months, he has been seen getting closer to Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner), although they’re struggling to make things official.
Coming up, Stacey is encouraged by Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) to ask Kheerat out on a date which he accepts but their conversation is unfortunately cut short when he gets a work call.

Later on, Kheerat suggests he and Stacey grab a coffee but his plans change when he spots his uncle Ranveer (Anil Goutam) in the Square.
The pair are soon seen at home, as Kheerat tries to blag his way through an unexpected meeting but the subject changes – Ranveer insists on finding him a wife.
Tensions arise among the Panesars as Kheerat is unimpressed to see his mother Suki (Balvinder Sopal) agree to the idea.
Kheerat avoids the conversation and heads off to see Stacey.
Will he tell her that his family is trying to find him a wife?
Kheerat and Stacey have shared a connection for several months since 2020 after a one night stand.
Their bond was revisited earlier in 2022, when they shared a kiss as Kheerat was trying to expose Gray Atkins for killing Chantelle and mistreating his second wife Chelsea Fox.
But they have still had many obstacles to encounter in their respective lives as Stacey had to face her mother Jean’s mental health struggles.
