NICOLA King tries to mend her relationship with her sister Bernice Blackstock but is brutally attacked.
Following her assault, she is then terrified her attackers will come to Emmerdale to hurt her and her children.
After warring over council business in recent episodes of the Yorkshire-based soap, Nicola King (portrayed by Nicola Wheeler) could be patching things up with her sister Bernice Blackstock.
Laurel Thomas is ready to make sure of it, at least, by suggesting they head out to a bar to push them back together.
However, Nicola decides to head off early – only to be attacked by a group a of teenage girls as she approaches her car.
The co-owner of Café Main Street is mugged, beaten and left bloodied and an ambulance is soon called to the scene.

Once she’s taken to hospital, Nicola is seen surrounded by her husband Jimmy, Laurel, Bernice and Rodney who anxiously wait for her to tell them more about what happened.
A groggy Nicola wakes up and Jimmy questions her but she lies, making out that she doesn’t remember who even attacked her, embarrassed to have been targeted by a gang of teen girls.
But Gaby soon finds a video of Nicola’s attack and Jimmy’s heart breaks for her as he realises how hard it has been for his wife to admit teenage girls attacked her.
Nicola later recounts the details of her attack during a conversation with Harriet and opens up.
She then reveals that her attackers will know her address as they have taken her driving licence when they mugged her.
Tearful, Nicola worries about the gang coming to her home and attacking her children, Angelica but also Elliot and Carl and confesses she thought she was going to die during her assault.
