Phil tells Raymond he’s his dad

Phil realised he didn’t stand a chance given his criminal record, and encouraged Denise to go for custody.

But viewers know that, with Denise keeping Raymond at arm’s length from him, Phil recently had a huge change of heart.

Next week, Denise turns up at the laundrette asking Phil if he’d like to babysit.

Phil is thrilled but plays with fire when he goes against Denise’s wishes and tells Raymond that he’s his dad.

It all kicks off when Denise discovers what he’s done and she confronts Phil, telling him he’ll never see his son again.

Denise bans Phil from seeing Raymond

Callum and Ben team up to help Phil with a solicitor

Phil is furious and when Billy Mitchell admits he wishes he’d got the courts involved when Honey took their son Will away, he’s motivated to fight Denise for his son.

Meanwhile, Frankie tells Ben there’s no point in him staying angry at Phil if it’s making him so miserable, but later a tipsy Ben has some harsh words for his dad.

At the pub, Callum suggests Ben should apologise to Phil.

But they’re interrupted when Phil storms in with Kat and announces Ritchie is too busy to help with his case for Raymond.

Ben offers to help with a solicitor but Phil leaves.

However, when Gray lets him down, Phil comes crawling back to Ben and they agree to meet later in the pub for the football.

Will Phil succeed or is he fighting a losing battle against Denise?
