Emmerdale spoilers: Billy Fletcher victim of shocking racist attack

AFTER Dawn Taylor’s troubles in the Dales, her husband Billy Fletcher becomes the victim of an attack.

Things take a horrific turn in Emmerdale next week when it’s clear his assault was racially motivated.

Billy is the victim of a horrific attack next week and winds up in hospital

After serial killer Meena Jutla tried to drive a wedge between them, Billy (portrayed by Jay Kontzle) and Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) were able to live a happily married life.

This was until Dawn’s ex Alex Moore tried to wreak havoc by seeking revenge on the couple for keeping him away from his son Lucas.

Dawn was notably taken away by police after an ambush on a drug dealer.

Life in the eponymous village remains rocky for the pair and danger is still lurking in the shadows as the estate manager is viciously attacked in upcoming scenes of the Yorkshire-based soap.

Billy is seen beaten up at the hospital, having sustained serious injuries from his assault.

Broken, he tells his other half his attack was racially aggravated.

Dawn and her father Will (Dean Andrews) are convinced that such a crime will not go unpunished – but Billy is not so sure justice will prevail.

But who attacked Billy?

While he enjoys spending more time with newcomer Marcus Dean, lawyer Ethan Anderson (Emile John) is asked to go to the police station where he meets Jordan.

Jordan was arrested on suspicion of assault and Ethan is determined to do a good job by taking his case.

But after interviewing his client, Ethan is rattled to see the CCTV footage of Jordan’s victim who is none other than Billy.

This prompts Ethan to make his link to Billy clear as he mentions there’s no conflict of interest.

However, he does suggest to Jordan that he may prefer to seek an alternative presentation, which the latter refuses, adamant to have Ethan as his legal counsel.

Ethan is left in an awkward position but what will he do?

Will Ethan accept to represent Jordan, despite his acts being racially motivated?

Will Billy come out of hospital unscathed following his assault?

Emmerdale airs every weeknight, from Monday to Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
