The businessman portrayed by Harry Potter actor Michael Wildman has also kept the affair hidden from his own partner, Kerry Wyatt.
And being caught by Belle Dingle didn’t stop the lovers from carrying on, although their physical relationship is leading to something more meaningful despite their respective commitments to other people.
Coming up on ITV, a post coital Al and Chas revel in their intimacy.

But when Al confesses his love for her, both are pained as Chas hastily retreats.
In later scenes, Al reaffirms his love for Chas, guaranteeing her that it wasn’t just in the heat of the moment.
Soon enough, the feeling becomes mutual and Chas begins to fall for a vulnerable Al.
As mentioned above, Belle Dingle knows all about Chas’ affair with Al – but could she expose them after finding out they’re still seeing each other?

To make matters even worse, Al has had an ongoing full-blown feud with Chas’ brother Cain.
Both men have been hellbent on making the other’s life more complicated, more particularly after Al’s son Ellis left Belle and his own son Kyle in the cold in December, 2021.
Meanwhile, off-screen, Emmerdale fans believe they’ve rumbled how Chas’ affair with Al will end.
Soap bosses have promised a whopping amount of drama in October, 2022, as the iconic Yorkshire-based drama will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary.
With a horrific storm making its way to the Dales, death is definitely on the table – and Al could be the one to go.
Michael Widlman has even recently sparked rumours he quit the soap.
