DAVID Metcalfe has had a lot on his mind as he continues to hide his money worries from Victoria Sugden.
The Emmerdale shop owner decides to take drastic action to keep the secret going.
Wedded bliss is already compromised for David Metcalfe (portrayed by Matthew Wolfenden) and Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins).
When her beau popped the question with a grand gesture, Victoria initially rejected him, believing they weren’t ready to get engaged.
However, in scenes due to air next week, she’s clearly excited at the idea of an expensive wedding.
Unbeknownst to her, David is less than pleased about these plans as he is tight on funds enough as it is.

While he admitted to his biological father Eric Pollard that he was experiencing money woes, David has decided to keep the truth from Victoria.
But when a traumatised Nicola King, who has recently been mugged by a group of teenage girls, is dealing with a panic attack when she crashes her car into his vehicle, David sees it as the perfect accident.
This is because he decides to feign a neck injury to the insurance company following the altercation in a bid to get some extra cash.
David deflects when Victoria brings up her plans for a big wedding and is glad Victoria buys his lie when he feigns his neck injury.
Unfortunately for him, Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) calls him out for taking out a claim on a struggling Nicola after their minor collision.
To make matters worse, Take A Vow wedding planner Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) informs a concerned Victoria about David missing out on some payments.
As mentioned above, David has gone to desperate lengths to try and keep the truth about his finances in the dark.
