Emmerdale fans were in for a surprise when they spotted beloved soap star Mark Jordon in a completely different setting. The actor, known for playing Daz Spencer in the popular ITV soap opera, made an unexpected appearance as a suspect in ITV's Yorkshire Ripper drama, The Long Shadow.

A Familiar Face in a Different Role

Eagle-eyed Emmerdale fans quickly recognized Mark's character, who appeared in the corridor during the show. In The Long Shadow, Mark takes on the role of an innocent taxi driver caught up in the Yorkshire Ripper investigation. His character, Ray Wood, was part of a group of cabbies being investigated in the Leeds and Bradford area. What made him stand out was his resemblance to a sketch drawn by a surviving victim of the dreaded serial killer.

The Long Shadow: A Gripping Drama

The Long Shadow, which premiered on 25 September, follows the intense search for the notorious serial killer Peter Sutcliffe, also known as The Yorkshire Ripper. Taking place in the '70s and '80s, the series brings to light the "desperate cat-and-mouse hunt" to catch Sutcliffe, who terrorized women during that time.

Mark Jordon expressed his excitement about appearing in The Long Shadow and called it one of his favorite jobs.
