Emmerdale viewers rip into ‘ridiculous and far-fetched’ hospital scenes as Caleb wakes up from his coma

EMMERDALE viewers have ripped into a ‘ridiculous and far-fetched’ hospital scene as Caleb Milligan woke up from his coma.

Tuesday’s episode ended with Caleb’s son Nicky revealing he was the person who pushed him over a cliff and left him for dead at the bottom.

Caleb remembered it was his son Nicky who had pushed him over the edge

Emmerdale viewers were shocked by the revelation, but the surprises kept coming in Wednesday’s episode, when Caleb came round from his sedation.

A nervous Nicky was by his bedside and immediately started talking about how Mackenzie must have been the one to push his dad.

Caleb said he was surprised he had such a “devoted son” and Nicky replied: “I was worried I could lose you.”

But he was left stunned as his dad responded: “Yeah, coz that would have put you on a murder charge.”

As Nicky tried to feign ignorance, Caleb continued: “You can stop pretending that you care…because I remember exactly what happened.

“It was you that pushed me.”

However, Emmerdale viewers were not impressed by Caleb’s seemingly quick recovery from his coma and took to Twitter to slam the scenes.

One wrote: “Caleb wakes up fine from a coma after falling from quite a height onto a tree or rock or whatever it was. Ridiculous.”

Another added: “Straight out of a coma, with full memory & perfect speech. Wow.”

A third tweeted: “Even by dales of our lives standards, Caleb waking up from a traumatic brain injury and being completely lucid is a bit far fetched.”

A fourth joked about Caleb’s speedy recovery, writing: “‘Time for your scan, Mr Milligan’ Caleb ‘Okay, I’ll trot down there myself, no need to wheel the bed there, nurse!'”

Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
