Emmerdale actor Ash Papmisciano has been left devastated over the death of his beloved mum.
The 32-year-old has opened up about his heartbreaking loss in a post on Instagram today.
The soap favourite, who has appeared in Emmerdale as its first transgender character Matty Barton since June 2018, posted a selfie with his smiling mum from a recent holiday.
Ash penned: “Still can’t believe you’re not with us mum, I’m just starting everyday like you did…with a good cuppa, Hope, love and positivity!
“My biggest inspiration and role model, Miss you everyday
#Micki #MyMum”
The actor was quickly inundated with messages of support from his fans and friends, who were saddened by his shock news.

One supportive follower said: “Sending all the love to you and your family bro

This person said: “What? Oh don’t say that? Noo way? I’m sorry to see this. Condolences x”
And a third typed: “I’m sending you so much love ash!!
“Honestly she will be so proud of you and everything you have achieved
I hope u and ur family are keeping well

Ash joined Emmerdale as the soap’s first transgender character four years ago.
His character Matty is Moira Barton’s child, who previously appeared on the show as Hannah.
When he returned to Butler’s Farm, Cain mistook him for an intruder and punched him.
Moira instantly recognised him but struggled to accept his new appearance and criticised him for missing his sister Holly’s funeral.
Ash has previously starred in Boy Meets Girl, where he played Alex.

He also played the role of Andrew in Mum and in 2017 played Jack in the theatre production of Summer in London at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
Ash said of his new Emmerdale role: “I’m very excited to be joining the very welcoming Emmerdale family.
“From nervous auditions to now working alongside the team daily has been truly amazing.
“Matty’s a ground breaking character to play and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead for him.”
