Over the years her character has suffered through a lot of tragedy – from her baby dying of cot death to her true love Ashley (John Middleton) deteriorating and eventually dying from dementia.
The actress left the Yorkshire Dales to help birth some newborn lambs on the latest episode.
The presenters played a pre-recorded footage of Charlotte assisting farmers Rob and Dave Nicholson in the maternity unit to BBC viewers.
Before in another clip, Charlotte shared that it’s been her lifelong dream to see a lamb being born and that it would be “amazing” to “pull one out”.
During the birth, the Charlotte assisted Rob and Dave in delivering the lambs – but one of the lamb’s was too big and this caused a slight delay.
“It’s pretty amazing and pretty humbling, it’s the best day, I really wanted a lamb to be born,” the soap star said.
She added that she has “so much admiration” for the farmers and how much work goes into doing what they do.
Later on in the show, Helen and Jules visited a remote farm in the Pennines where spring always arrives a little later than in the rest of the North of England.
Elsewhere, Adam reported from his farm in the Cotswolds.
