Escape to the Chateau viewers had grown used to seeing the couple working on their stunning French home while also raising their two young children.

But now Dick and Angel have revealed the first details of their new programme in a post on Instagram which will hopefully fill the void for fans.

Alongside a snap of them in summer clothes and big smiles on their faces, the couple wrote: “Hello to you all! We are busy filming our new series for Channel 4.

“’Escape to the Chateau: Secret France’ will be on your screens later this year – we can’t wait to share our discoveries with you! Dick & Angel xXx.”

While UK fans were delighted, those in other countries around the world were keen to know if they would be able to watch it too.

One replied: “Will we be able to watch it in the USA??”

Another wrote: “You have Aussie fans as well, I hope it comes here.”

A third shared: “Please come back to Canada HGTV.”

Meanwhile a fourth posted: “When are de series coming to the Netherlands? Can’t wait to see.”

The new series was announced in September last year, with Lizi Wootton, head of Popular Factual at Two Rivers, which will produce the show, saying: “Having worked on all things Chateau since its inception, I have seen the appetite for the brand flourish, with the continued success, internationally, of Escape to the Chateau as well as the popularity of the spin-off series Escape to the Chateau: Make Do and Mend.

“We are thrilled to continue to bring the escapism, aspiration, warmth, accessibility and fun, which is the beating heart of the Chateau series, to the travel genre.

“As Dick and Angel go beyond the chateau’s gates their unique ability to seek out the unexpected and uncover the extraordinary will combine with their innate sense of adventure to unlock the secrets of France.”
