ESCAPE to the Chateau’s Dick Strawbridge revealed he was “told” to leave his wife Angel Adoree behind shortly after their wedding.

Dick and Angel appeared on ITV’s Lorraine to chat about the show ending as they recalled a tricky moment involving their wedding
The pair have documented the very start of their journey at the Château de la Motte-Husson, in the eight series of Escape to the Chateau.
With the series now finished Dick, 63 and Angel, 44 went on Lorraine Kelly to chat about the extensive project they took on and looked back on a moment at the very start where Dick was forced to abandon his new wife.
During their appearance on ITV’s Lorraine, they admitted a deadline at the start with their wedding was challenging,
Lorraine asked the pair: “Was there any time where you thought, ‘Uh oh, we’ve taken on too much here?”
The pair both agreed “Never,” but they shared a stressful moment that occurred with their wedding.
Angel recollected: “But I think there has been deadlines, admittedly self-inflicted, you know, our wedding.”
She continued: “And I wanted to get in and get some cleaning done and get the decorations done…”
Dick added: “I got told two days before I was disappearing off to America to work that Angela wanted to be in the chateau…
“So it was manic, one o’clock in the morning we were in, and five o’clock in the morning I headed off to America for two weeks and left her there.”
“You just did that? Maybe that was not a bad thing in some ways,” Lorraine asked as she looked shocked.
This comes after the Strawbridge’s said a farewell to their much-loved Channel 4 series.
In the final episode Angel threw a Christmas party to celebrate the end of the show.
Things got emotional as the family broke down in tears as they marked the end of an era.
