James and Dominic have been friends for almost two decades after appearing together in 2006 comedy The History Boys
Last month James hosted his final ever edition of The Late Late Show – which included a special Carpool Karaoke with superstar and his close friend Adele.
In total James hosted a whopping 1,200 episodes of the show.
He rejected a multimillion dollar deal to remain on the programme – admitting he felt it was time to return to his roots.
He cited his desire for his children to grow up in the UK as one of his deciding factors as well as to be close to the rest of their family.
James and Dominic have been friends for almost two decades after appearing together in 2006 comedy The History Boys.
The pair were room mates before each finding fame, with Dominic even being credited for matching James up with his wife Julia Carey.
Dominic was organising a charity event with Julia and persuaded James to attend.
