Cricket series
Freddie Flintoff is making his return to television after a terrifying car crash while filming Top Gear. The TV star took a break from work to recover from the injuries he sustained in the accident. Now, he is set to film the second season of his cricket series, Field of Dreams, this winter.
The series follows Freddie as he returns to his home town for the sporting challenge of a lifetime. Along the way, he tries to inspire unlikely teens to give cricket a chance. However, he faces several challenges along the way.
Back on the cricket pitch
Flintoff was recently spotted back on the cricket pitch after his near-death experience in the Top Gear crash. The 45-year-old star was seen helping to coach the England cricket team in their match against New Zealand in Cardiff. One-day captain Jos Buttler said, "He's a legend and it's great to have him around."
During the match, Flintoff wore a catching mitt and received balls from bowlers Reece Topley and Gus Atkinson. He was also seen sitting alongside stars Joe Root and Ben Stokes on the players' balcony during England's innings.
Unpaid consultant
It is understood that Flintoff is helping out the England cricket team as an unpaid consultant and is not an official member of the coaching lineup. His return to the sport comes nine months after his horrific crash on Top Gear.
