Stranger Things picks up six months after the Battle of Starcourt and sees the return of the beloved cast who are sporting a lot more hair, 80s trends and the same terrified look on their faces.

The stills also give fans a first glimpse at Game of Thrones star Joseph’s new character.

The actor, best known for his role as Koner of House Stark on the HBO series, will join the ensemble as Eddie Munson.

In the stills, Joseph is pictured alongside Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler and Robin Buckley as they come face to face with something unseen in the woods at night.

He’s sporting his Hell Fire Club T-shirt with a leather jacket and his hair has been transformed into an 80s perm that rivals Nancy’s own.

Joseph’s character is the founder of Hawkins High’s official Dungeons and Dragons club, called The Hellfire Club.

He is described as a metalhead who tends to divide opinions and he is at the centre of this season’s terrifying encounters with the Upside Down.

Joseph has also starred in the BBC series Dickensian as Arthur Havisham as well as Enjolras in the TV adaptation of Les Misérables on the same channel.

The first-look images for season four also show the original cast split across new towns and schools, while they still try to work together to deal with supernatural threats.

The fourth season of Stranger things will launch on Netflix in two parts, on May 27 and July 1.
