While announcing the news on his social media today, Gino, 45, couldn’t help but cheekily take swipe at Gordon as he teased a new production with Fred and his sporran named Justin.

The Italian chef penned alongside a photo of him and Fred sleeping: “Breaking News…

“Unfortunately we will no longer be filming #GordonGinoandFred mainly because @gordongram is too busy working on his hair highlights in USA.

“But don’t worry guys, @fred_sirieix and I have a plan #JustinGinoandFred Coming soon…….GDx.”

In light of the news, fans commented in their droves about their disappointment that Gordon would no long be part of the series.

On emotionally penned: “Noooo!!!!!! Please reunite the trio!”

“Noooooo the 3 of u are the best, gutted but Fred and Gino will still be good, Gordon plz come back,” another wrote.

A third commented: “Oh no!!
?
excited to see what’s next though!”

“Aww please continue even if it is without Gordon, I love watching you guys & the laughs along the way,” added a fourth.

Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road follows chefs Gordon, Gino and First Dates star Fred as they visit various countries across the globe, sampling local cuisine and explore local culture.

The ITV first aired in 2018, with the most recent series, Gordon Gino & Fred Go Greek, hitting TV screens in September.

In August, The Celeb Report revealed that the trio were forced to cut their latest Road Trip series early after a Covid outbreak threatened production in Egypt.

FILMING CUT SHORT

The trio, who were touring around the Med, flew home just days after arriving because bosses couldn’t guarantee their safety, thus their latest series was shorter than previous.

A TV source said at the time: “Once the lads reached Egypt after a great time in Greece, there was a Covid outbreak, with many of the locals catching it.

“It soon became apparent the Egypt production team were not taking the protocols as seriously as they should, so Gordon pulled the plug on the advice of the show’s producers after some frantic calls to ITV.

“They flew straight home into quarantine and thankfully nobody picked up anything.

“It was the sensible thing to do, but it’s gutting as the latest instalment of the hit won’t be as long.”

Before arriving in Egypt, Gordon, Gino and Fred were having the time of their lives, taking in the Greek Islands including Crete, Santorini and Mykonos on a catamaran, while also jet-ski racing and shipwreck diving.

They ended the trip by immersing themselves in culture, visiting the historic capital city, Athens.

Series one, which aired in 2018, saw them travel across western Europe, while last year’s series two took them to the US and Mexico.

In between they’ve also produced three Christmas Specials. The third series is one of several which ITV have commissioned up to 2023.
