SHE’S fast becoming one of the most popular stars on the box after she waltzed her way through Strictly Come Dancing.
But Clara Amfo’s next telly role is going to be a far more comfortable affair.
She has signed up for Celebrity Gogglebox and will appear on the new series this June.
A source said: “Clara is Channel 4’s first new big name signing for the next series of Celebrity Gogglebox.
“She will be taking a seat on her sofa alongside her mum Gracie.
“As a massive fan of Gogglebox Clara cannot wait to take part and is really looking forward to filming it.”
Following her turn on the hit show, Clara is also being lined up for a place on a one-off Gogglebox special later this year to mark Channel 4’s Black Talent Day.
The insider added: “As one of the ways Channel 4 are marking Black History Month they are airing a special Gogglebox episode with just black talent.
“The bookers are reaching for the stars quite literally with the line up.
“Along with Clara, they want to approach big names including Sir Lenny Henry, Naomi Campbell and Dame Kelly Holmes.
“It will be an absolutely outstanding line up when everyone is confirmed.”
Channel 4 boss Ian Katz revealed last year how the broadcaster would be holding a special day of programming with black talent.
Other big shows including Countdown and Hollyoaks will air with just black stars on the bill.
Ian said last year: “Channel 4 was created to give voice to underrepresented parts of society and do things which other broadcasters would not, and the Black Takeover qualifies on both counts.
“It will be much more than a day of eye-catching programming, providing a focal point for our efforts to drive up on and off screen representation and leaving a lasting legacy on the channel and beyond.”
