GOGGLEBOX star Stephen Webb has broken his silence after his and husband Daniel’s absence from the show on Friday night.
The Channel 4 programme finally premiered its 21st series at the end of the week.
Gogglebox’s Stephen Webb revealed why he didn’t appear on the show with husband Daniel on Friday night
The pair started filming for the show together in 2019
Fan favourites Pete and Sophie Sandiford, Mary Killen and Giles Wood, and Jenny Newby and Lee Riley made an epic return to our screens.
However Stephen and Daniel were nowhere to be seen.
Stephen took to Instagram to explain why.
Sharing a selfie of the couple to his grid, he wrote: “He’s home just in time for #gogglebox we are not on this week as Daniels been away sunning himself in Dubai.”
Gogglebox fans rushed to the comments section to share the love.
One wrote: “Ah missing you boys this week!”
“Wondered where you were! Hope @lustig75 had a fabulous time,” another chimed in.
Another joked: “Get back to work and stop enjoying yourself x.”
Stephen has been a regular on Gogglebox since it first hit our screens in 2013.
He appeared on the show alongside his ex Christopher Steed.
Then in 2019 Daniel showed his face on the sofa for the first time.
It comes after Pete Sandiford broke down in tears as the hit show returned on Friday.
The siblings had tuned into a recent episode of The Piano, which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman and is on the hunt for four of the UK’s top amateur pianists.
But it all got too much for Pete as he watched an inspiring blind and neurodiverse teenager playing a piece of Chopin at Leeds station.
Lucy, 13, was diagnosed with cancerous tumours when she was younger and learned to play the piano by resting her hands on top of her teacher’s hands.
Pete could not believe the youngster’s talent and broke down in tears as he watched her play.
“It’s a nice bit of music, isn’t it?” he told his sister Sophie, as his eyes filled up.
Pete, who is expecting his second child with wife Paige, then joked: “I’d be getting a little hat on the floor here, cashing in on a couple of quid.
“Come on, it’s not free!”
His emotion was clear, however, as Pete then wiped another tear away from his eye.
Gogglebox fans were thrilled to have the show back on screens on Friday night following a break.
It has returned for its 21st series and featured all the favourites, apart from Mica and and Marcus who quit in December.
They have appeared on the show together since the 13th series
