Good Morning Britain viewers are all saying the same thing as Susanna Reid returns from Poland after a day

GOOD Morning Britain viewers were all surprised today as host Susanna Reid returned after just one day of reporting live from Poland.

The 51-year-old had travelled to Medyka on the Ukrainian border to present Monday’s show.

But she was back in the studio today – just 24 hours later – alongside her co-host Ed Balls.

It led some to question why she had not stayed out longer to present the show from there.

One said: “I still don’t get why she was there in the first place ? She could’ve easily done that in the studio ?

Another asked: “She went for 1 day?”

Someone else said: “My God, she is making out she was fighting the Russians in full combat gear and rescued 1 million Ukrainians single handed. You went to a safe land in Poland for a publicity stunt.”

Another insisted: “It all seems a bit late. I mean the BBC were there straight away. It was repeated so many times also.

“There are children living in trains stations underground with their parents to try to keep safe. They were not acknowledged.”

A viewer commented: “She was in Poland for goodness sake. Old Mother Reid is no Mother Theresa. It’s self preservation of the woman that earns £1.1 million a year for a 9hour week. Don’t take us for fools.”

But others praised the host for her bravery after flying out close to the warzone.

She also met with refugees struggling with visa issues – and vowed to get answers with UK politicians upon her return.

One said: “Great job susannah. Powerful reporting. X”

And another pointed out about the negativity surrounding Susanna’s trip.

“What a toxic thread this is, filled with hate over empathy,” said one.

Reflecting on her brief stint in Medyka this morning, Susanna said: “It’s good to be back, I had a remarkable couple of days in Poland.

“I saw things… people. It’s the people’s story isn’t it. It’s the refugees fleeing the intensifying bombardment of some cities in particular.”

It came after viewers cheekily suggested the reason behind Susanna travelling 1,200 miles to report from the Ukrainian border – while Richard went solo in the studio.

Noticing the distance, one fan of the ITV breakfast show joked: “Susanna’s gone to extreme lengths to not have to sit next to Richard Madeley this week.”
