Good Morning Britain viewers’ fury as Richard Madeley is replaced again

GOOD Morning Britain viewers were up in arms today after Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid were replaced by Adil Ray and Kate Garraway again.

Divisive Richard only recently had a break from the show and has been absent so far this week too.

Richard Madeley has proved a divisive figure behind the GMB desk

His supporters were upset to see him missing from their screens, with one asking on Twitter: “richardm56 where are you?. You’re my favourite @GMB presenter.”

Others voiced criticism of both Richard and Adil, with one saying: “I honestly believe that @adilray is only on #GMB to make @richardm56 look good.

Another said: “How on earth did Adil Ray get a job on #gmb ? And then there’s Richard Madeley! #GMB need to get some decent staff!

But others disagreed, with one Adil fan writing: “he has done a brilliant on GMB over the Easter weekend and he is a brilliant present better than bloody Richard Madeley.”

The Citizen Khan star left MP Greg Hands baffled on yesterday’s show when he asked a question about whether Jesus would be deported from the UK in modern times.

The Minister of State for Business, Energy and Clean Growth was quizzed on plans to send asylum seekers to Rwanda.

It was announced last week that asylum seekers who unofficially cross the English Channel in small boats will be sent to Rwanda, East Africa.

More than 160 charities and campaign groups have asked the Government to scrap the “shamefully cruel” plans.

Asking Mr Hands about his thoughts on the scheme, Adil said: “Here we are celebrating Easter this weekend, the life and times of Jesus Christ who himself was a refugee.

“Under this scheme, Priti Patel, Boris Johnson, your Government’s scheme, if he arrived from the UK, Jesus would be sent to Rwanda.”

“Is that right?” he tried to clarify, before following up with the baffling question: “Would you send Jesus to Rwanda?”

Laughing as he tried to respond, Mr Hands replied: “I think we could debate the Easter story. This is a Government policy, 2,000 years later…”

He was cut off by Adil, who spoke over him: “I’m asking you… you’re not answering the question, sorry. Mr Hands, you’ve not answered the question.”

Mr Hands concluded: “I’m sorry, I think it’s a ludicrous question.”
