GRAND Designs fans have been left in agreement over the appearance of a £1million house that took FIVE YEARS to build.
The underground property in Canterbury, Kent, is sunk into a sprawling hillside and was the gruelling project of married couple Dorran and Vereuschka.

But now complete, having gone over budget and four years over its estimated timeframe, viewers all found themselves saying the same thing.
Fans could not help but compare the unique property, which even had lift for cars, to the underground home featured in kids’ TV show the Teletubbies.
Just like the home of Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Lala and Po, the family house even featured a round window poking out of the hillside.
After being shown the completed build, one Grand Designs viewer said: “It’s impressive. Not sure it is attractive. But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Bit Teletubby.”

And someone else chimed in: “I think these guys have seen the Teletubbies house too many times.”
Others were quick to share Gifs of the Teletubbies dancing around outside their underground home.
Dorran and Vereuschka began their incredible build in 2017 and had hoped to move in the following year.
They set aside a budget of £1million, which was a mixture of both savings and profit from the sale of their family home.
However, nine months in and Dorran and Vereuschka sacked their builders after deciding they could do a better job themselves.
This was despite Dorran working abroad for five weeks, every five weeks, and Vereuschka also holding down a full-time job.
In the end, the house was not completed until FIVE YEARS after work had first got underway.
Vereuschka admitted they had spent more than £1million but refused to give the total cost.
Grand Designs host Kevin McCloud asked: “You were aiming for £1million…”
Vereuschka told him: “We are over but I haven’t totted up the spreadsheet.”
When Kevin pointed out that “over” could mean anything from £1.1million to £1.9million, Dorran insisted: “It’s not that much.”
Viewers were miffed at the couple’s refusal to share the total cost of their giant build.
One tweeted: “No we’re not going to tell you how much we’re over budget as people might think we’re failures… come on just tell us FFS… I reckon it cost them £1.3 million.”
