Dan Chambers, a former contestant on the C4 cooking show, has said Noel was so ‘inappropriate’ when he filmed the 2019 series that some of what he said ended up on the cutting room floor.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Dan revealed: “A lot of the things that he would say didn’t make it in because he would just say anything he wanted to and it might not have been quite appropriate.”
Actor and comedian Noel, 49, is best known for noughties TV show The Mighty Boosh.
In 2017, he was confirmed as a host for The Great British Bake Off.
The popular show was moving from its original home with the BBC to C4 and its new bosses dramatically changed the lineup.
Noel originally co-hosted GBBO with Sandi Toksvig, who stayed on the programme for three years. He now co-hosts with Matt.
Since landing his role on the show, Noel has sparked numerous complaints to TV watchdog Ofcom.
He has often joked about nudity – even taking a swipe once at Bake Off judge Prue Leith’s naked body.
Last October, Noel and Matt were also slammed for being “offensive” after they mimicked the German accent of a contestant.
Shortly after filming his first series with Bake Off, Noel admitted his biggest struggle with the format.
During an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show, he said he found it difficult keeping the winner’s name a secret.
Noel told Jonathan: “It’s horrible! I have to gaffer tape my head shut. I almost always want to just blurt it out.”
