Josie Gibson's hopes dashed
Josie Gibson's chances of landing the highly sought-after hosting role on Dancing On Ice have been dashed. This comes after Holly Willoughby announced her return to the hit reality TV series next year.
Holly's comeback
Holly, 42, will join Stephen Mulhern for the live shows in January. The former This Morning anchor and her old friend, Deal or No Deal host Stephen Mulhern, 46, are set to host the 15th series of Dancing on Ice, which will return to ITV1 on Sunday 14 January.
Josie Gibson's missed opportunity
Josie, 38, was considered the frontrunner for the hosting role after Holly's exit from This Morning two months ago. However, she has now been sidelined for the position. Despite this setback, Josie's popularity with ITV viewers and television fans in general is likely to keep her at the forefront of the latest programmes.
ITV's statement
ITV's head of entertainment commissioning, Katie Rawcliffe, described Holly and Stephen's partnership as "the start of an exciting year for the show." She went on to say, "Holly and Stephen are two of our best-loved presenters, so reuniting them twenty years after they first appeared on screen together to host Dancing on Ice marks the start of an exciting year for the show."
Confirmed line-up
The line-up for Dancing on Ice was revealed earlier this year and includes stars such as S Club's Hannah Spearritt, boxer Ricky Hatton, and Emmerdale's Roxy Shahidi. Gogglebox's Stephen Lustig-Webb had to withdraw due to injury and has been replaced by Olympic legend Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards.
Holly's surprise return
Holly also made an unexpected return to television this week as she was spotted on This Morning. However, it was later revealed that it was just a replay of a previous interview from earlier this year.
