A Hollyoaks exec has revealed which fan-favourite characters will survive the soap’s casting cull ahead of huge time jump. Now up to 20 cast members are set to get the boot. This time jump has been a long time coming, with Hollyoaks ending the contracts of many beloved actors over recent months.
Who's Safe?
Speaking on a soap panel, Hollyoaks exec Ben confirmed that two fan-favorite characters will be safe from the cull. Mercedes McQueen and Ste [Hay] will still be around, ensuring some familiar faces remain amidst the changes.
What to Expect
To help viewers prepare for the upcoming time jump, a special spin-off show called Rob Beckett’s Big Hollyoaks Catch Up will air on September 6 at 8 pm on E4. This show will recap essential plotlines from the past few months, setting the stage for the soap's one-year leap forward.
Exciting Times Ahead
Hollyoaks is set for an unprecedented time jump on September 9, alongside a huge stunt week to kick off the action. The soap's schedule will also change, with three episodes per week instead of the usual five, as the storyline takes a dramatic turn.
