The soap star – who has played Brooke Hathaway on the Channel 4 soap since 2018 – thanked followers for their support.

Tylan revealed he is “so happy” following the life changing surgery that focuses on removing unwanted breast tissue.

The actor took to social media to update fans on how the surgery went.

Sharing a snap from his hospital bed, Tylan wrote: “Trans joy is so real. Couldn’t be happier.”

The soap favourite then posted a message to his followers which read: “Thank you guys so much for all the love and kind messages. I’m super tired right now but I will get round to replying this week.

“Thank you again it means so much to me. I’M SO MF HAPPY.”

Tylan later updated fans with another photo from hospital.

“There’s so much that I could say pertaining to the ubiquitous love and appreciation I feel towards everyone who has supported me on this ongoing journey and the joy I’m experiencing right now, but I’m not sure words can do justice to my feelings, so I’ll just drop these pics instead,” Tylan penned alongside the post.

“To my trans family, euphoria and liberation is our birth right. Please never give up on it, our happiness is worth it!!!”

The soap star has also regularly updated fans on his transitioning journey and last year revealed that he was changing his pronouns to he/him.

In 2021, Tylan revealed that they were non-binary and that they would be changing their name from Talia to Tylan.

Tylan described coming out as non binary as their “biggest achievement” of 2020 and “the biggest transition” in their life.

Fans praised the actor for their choice to go public with their identity.

The TV star has been a firm favourite with fans of the soap since joining the show in 2018 and became the first autistic star to land a role in a British TV drama.

Tylan’s character Brooke also identifies as non-binary.

Following his arrival on the show, Tylan was nominated for the Best Newcomer gong at the 2019 British Soap Awards.

Tylan is the child of Fame Academy’s David and Carrie Grant.

In 2020, Carrie and David appeared in Hollyoask as Mal and Zoe, the adoptive parents of Brooke’s newborn child.

The couple have four children – three of whom do not identify as the gender they were assigned at birth.

Last year Carrie spoke about Tylan’s transition in the Times and said she is supportive of her children.

Carrie explained that she took time to “grieve” after discovering that she “doesn’t have daughters anymore”.

Speaking to The Celeb Reportday Times, Carrie said: “At the end of last year there was a moment of me thinking ‘Oh, I do not have any daughters any more’.

“As a mum I always wanted daughters. I am the only female left in the family. I managed to think, ‘OK, I need to grieve that and move on”.

Carrie admitted that while she occasionally misgenders her children, she quickly apologises and “moves on”.
