DESSERT queen Nadiya Hussain has confessed she’d like to give the Prime Minister a very special cake.
During her episode of Kate Garraway‘s Life Stories, Bake Off champ Nadiya, 37, also insisted she could run the country better than Boris Johnson.
When asked by Kate, 54, about the huge success she’s enjoyed since winning the 2015 series of GBBO, Nadiya replied: “The word I would use to describe my career is serendipitous – it was a happy accident.”
But Good Morning Britain host Kate said: “More people watched your victorious episode in 2015 than voted for the Conservatives in the election of that year.
“And by the way, the Conservatives won so you were more popular than David Cameron.”
Laughing, Nadiya replied: “Because cake is more interesting than politics!”
When Kate asked Nadiya if she’d like to have a go at running the country, she quickly said: “Absolutely no way but I reckon I could do a better job.”
Kate continued: “It suddenly feels like cake has become part of politics, people are ambushing people with cakes, cakes are suddenly discussed in Westminster and parliament.
“If you were to ambush Boris Johnson with a cake, what kind of cake would it be?”
Nadiya responded: “A pie in the face maybe?”
But mum-of-three Nadiya’s episode of Life Lessons wasn’t all jokes as she opened up about her horrific experience with school bullies.
Recalling one incident which took place when she was just 10-years-old, Nadiya said: “Before I knew it, my head was in the loo and they were flushing it repeatedly and holding me down.
“All I remember is loo water in my nose and in my eyes and in my ears. Even to this day, when I go to the loo, that image comes into my head.
“It got to a point when I was really struggling with it when I would deliberately not drink water because I didn’t want to use the loo.”
