Inside Amanda Owen’s turbulent year after marriage split and fresh start away from Our Yorkshire Farm

AMANDA Owen has had a rollercoaster of a year, to say the least, with many highs, as well as lows – here’s a look back at those moments.

The Yorkshire Shepherdess, 47, first came on to screens alongside her husband Clive, their nine children and animals back in 2018.

Fans were enthralled by the Owen clang and their unorthodox life at their Yorkshire Dales farm.

Although things seemed to be going well at Ravenseat farm, they quickly took a wrong turn when Amanda and her husband shocked fans with the news their 22 year marriage was over.

The Yorkshire Shepherdess broke the sad news to her 517,000 followers on Instagram.

A statement from the pair read: “Clive and I are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate.

“This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family.

“Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together, with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support and would ask the media please respect our privacy as we work through this difficult time.”

And then when we thought things couldn’t get any worse, Channel 5 producers confirmed their hit show Our Yorkshire Farm had been axed for good – leaving fans devastated once again.

Making the announcement at the time, Daniel Pearl, Commissioning Editor for Factual at Channel 5, explained: “The Owens have become everyone’s favourite farming family and millions have enjoyed watching their unique way of life.

Then in June this year, Amanda’s parenting style was criticised and social services got in touch.

“I don’t see myself as a perfect parent,” she said. “I got a yellow flag from social services… I believe there is a happy medium whereby you do let the kids climb trees.

But things quickly smoothed over, in August, Amanda shared some adorable snaps of her enjoying the heatwave with her brood.

Following her split from her husband, Clive Amanda was shortly reunited with him.

The exes put on a united front to support their daughter Raven as she graduated.

The TV star shared snaps from the special day with the caption: “Rain wasn’t going to dampen anyone’s spirits on what was a really special day.”

She later posted a picture of son Reuben and wrote: “Proud of these two [Reuben and Raven] in equal measure. Yes indeed, they certainly wear different hats but are both undoubtedly first class.”

As Our Yorkshire Farm has come to both Amanda and Clive have turned a new leaf, as Clive has his own show on Channel 5 alongside him and Amanda’s eldest son, Reuben.

The mum-of-nine has also landed her own six-part TV show called Amanda Owen’s Extraordinary Farming Lives which will be landing on Channel 4 in 2023.
