Inside Fleur East’s quirky London home as she signs up for Strictly Come Dancing

FLEUR East could certainly bag herself a job in interior design if her music career stops working out.

The 34-year-old – who is set to take part in this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing – has set up home in a seriously stylish East London pad that is filled with vibrant artwork and furnishings.

Proving brighter really is better, Fleur can rest up on a stunning teal green corner sofa, which is dotted with mustard cushions to complement her sleek mustard armchair.

Colourful pictures and paintings help tie together the array of colours, while a gold rim coffee table injects some extra opulence into the room.

There’s also a very cool cinema room, with guests able to kick back and watch their favourite flicks from the comfort of a large bean bag sofa.

Of course, no movie watching experience is complete without popcorn, which Fleur offers from her very own wall dispensers.

The fashion lover has also turned one of the four bedrooms into a walk-in wardrobe that is piled high with her designer gear.

At the top of the stairs is an inspirational mural that reads: “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”

Explaining the many vibrant murals and paintings that run throughout her home, Fleur previously told Metro: “The theme was love and connection. We added a varnish on to it and put some quotes on the walls.”

Admitting she’s a fan of getting thrifty, Fleur revealed she snapped up her shabby chic dining table from a pre-owned furniture website.

“I’m all about doing things on a budget. I got some great tips from interior designers I follow on Instagram,” she added.

Fleur shares her stylish abode with French designer Marcel Badiane-Robin, her boyfriend of seven years.

The singer – who shot to fame on The X Factor in 2014 – will appreciate her cosy home when she’s finished a hard day of training for Strictly Come Dancing.

Announcing the news today on Hit Radio, she said: “I’m equally nervous and thrilled to be part of this year’s Strictly line up.

“I’m excited to learn new skills and I want to soak up every moment of this magical experience.

“It’s such an honour to be on the show after years of watching it with my Father who loved it so much.

“Unfortunately my Dad is no longer with us but I know he will be watching over the ballroom in spirit.

“I’m doing this to make him and my family proud and can’t wait to get my dancing shoes on!”

Fleur joins a sparking line up of stars for the 2022 series – footballer Tony Adams, Bros star Matt Goss, Kiss radio host Tyler West, Paralympic swimming gold medallist Ellie Simmonds, comedian and actress Jayde Adams.

TV presenter Helen Skelton, Coronation Street actors Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, Loose Women star Kaye Adams, Radio 2’s Richie Anderson, and Ted Lasso actress Ellie Taylor have also joined the line up.
