Inside the stunning ‘floating’ lake house hidden in Isle of Wight forest on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces

GEORGE Clarke’s Amazing Spaces gave a sneak peek inside a stunning “floating” lake house hidden in the Isle of Wight forest on Friday night.

The most recent episode of the Channel 4 programme showed off the impressive pad located in the village of St Lawrence.

Haddon Lake House is owned by landscape designer Phillippa Lambert and graphic design and architectural illustration specialist Steve Lambert.

The stunning property is set on two-acres of woodland in the grounds of Old Park.

Back in 2002 the pair were granted permission to create their Japanese-inspired dream home, and it was built four years later.

It features a unique fireplace, a balcony that overlooks the stunning forest and a hitting stone.

Introducing the property on the show, George, 47, told viewers: “This is the cool and calm Haddon Lake House, inspired by an ancient Japanese mill.

“The driveway is truly magical. “

The presenter arrived at the house in a boat after rowing up the lake to the front door.

George added: “The Japanese architecture is really about the horizontal and you can see it from here, you’ve got the floating deck, the horizontal window frames, you’ve got the horizontal blinds on the other side of the glass.

“The reason why that is so important is because it grounds the building.

“It connects it to the landscape. It just comes together to make it really beautiful.”

The amazing pad has also appeared on Own Britain’s Best Home and Garden and Building The Dream.
