Is Trigger Point linked to Line of Duty?

Despite the speculation, ITV’s Trigger Point and BBC police drama Line of Duty are not directly linked and aren’t set in the same universe.

However, there are some clear similarities between the two.

Both Trigger Point and Line of Duty star Vicky McClure as one of the lead characters, but she has shared that she’s not fussed about comparisons between the two crime shows.

“I’m not concerned in so much as this is what actors do,” the 38-year-old actor told The Metro. “I have fallen into this genre.”

She added that despite superficial similarities, the two characters are quite different: “I look at Lana and Kate and I don’t see them together as the same people at all.

Not only with the way that Lana looks and the way we have designed that, her personality is very different.”

As well as Vicky’s involvement in both shows, Line of Duty’s showrunner Jed Mercurio acts as an Executive Producer on Trigger Point.

Who does Vicky McClure play in Trigger Point?

In Trigger Point, Vicky McClure plays Metropolitan Police bomb disposal expert Lana Washington, who’s nicknamed Wash by her co-workers.

The first episode of the show sees Lana and her colleague Joel Nutkins (played by Adrian Lester) respond to a bomb call in a London housing estate.
