SITTING on a Fortune is set to land a celebrity spin-off series.

The ITV quiz show, hosted by BBC star Gary Lineker, has been a massive hit with fans since its launch in 2021.

The Match of the Day presenter has been the face of Walkers for 29 years

Now after a successful one-off Christmas special, Gary says ITV execs are in talks about launching an all-star series.

Chris Kamara, Sam Quek, Joe Pasquale, Nina Wadia, Colson Smith and Reverend Kate Bottley all played the high-pressure game in a bid to win a massive £100,000 for charity in December 2021.

Following its success, Gary says more star-studded editions could now be on the cards.

He told The Celeb Report: “It’s a possibility for us to do a full series with celebrities.

“I think the cash has to go to charity… I don’t think the celebrities can get away with that one!”

Gary hasn’t dared to give his gameshow a go himself though – and jokes: “No one could possibly stand in for me as host so I’ve never played it myself.”

He added: “The truth is I’m terrible at games and quizzes.

“The answer is always on the tip of my tongue. I can never remember names!

“I’m really pleased with how the show’s been received though. The figures have been good and the feedback’s been excellent.

“It’s a one-off for me to do this kind of show. I love doing it. It’s a great feeling, changing someone’s life.

“Often the contestants just want to help someone in their family with the money.

“Hopefully we can just do lots of series and give lots of people lots of money.

“I really enjoy it because it’s a totally different skill to all the other things I’ve done. You can have a laugh with it, it’s good fun. The people are really lovely.”

Gary has been busy launching Walkers Sandwich Shops as part of his 29-year partnership with the snack brand.

Gary unveiled Walkers’ partnership with a selection of UK sandwich shops up and down the country at Max’s Sandwich shop in London ahead of its launch today (June 12).

The menu of mind-blowing #CrispIN sandwich creations will be in shops across the UK, in Brighton, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Newcastle, Norwich and Reading, for one week only.

Walkers has also released the recipes for crisp sandwich lovers to create their own.

Philippa Pennington at Walkers said: “We believe that a bag of Walkers makes your lunchtime sandwich even more enjoyable, but it’s very clear to us that people feel very strongly about whether or not the crisps should be eaten in their sandwich or on the side.

“Last year the residents of Sandwich voted ‘Crisp In’ as the winning combination, but this year we’re widening the debate to showcase the wide range of crisp and sandwich combinations – from classic Walkers crisps through to Wotsits and Monster Munch!

“With Walkers Sandwich Shops located across the UK, we’re calling on people to head to their nearest shop, taste the sandwiches and have their say online by sharing their favourite combination from the menu, or favourite crisps to enjoy in a sandwich – whether that’s Wotsits, Monster Munch, Quavers, or classic Walkers!”
