Over the years Carol has turned her hand to many things, from co-hosting Countdown to appearing in the I’m A Celebrity jungle in 2016.

Carol, 62, also competed on the second series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 but was the second celebrity to be eliminated.

As well as showing off her incredible intellect, Carol is also proud of her famous curves and won Rear of the Year in 2011 and 2014.

While some children of famous parents could be embarrassed by those sorts of things, Carol insists her offspring have never been mortified by any of her antics.

Speaking ahead of her appearance on the Taskmaster New Year’s Treat, she said: “They’ve never cringed once, my kids. They’ve never gone through that stage.

“It’s really funny. They think it’s all hilarious. I’ll talk to other people who say ‘Oh, my daughter’s so embarrassed about me,’ and I’ll think ‘I’ve done a million things that could have embarrassed my children, but they’re just not like that.'”

Carol will take part in the one-off special of Taskmaster alongside Sir Mo Farah, Greg James, Amelia Dimoldenberg and Rebecca Lucy Taylor, aka Self Esteem, while Greg Davies and Alex Horne preside over the tasks once again.

Carol said: “I love the show. It’s really clever and really stupid all at the same time.

“It’s just very British. It’s just fun, getting really competitive about things that are really stupid. I love it, it’s very funny.”

Asked if she had learned anything about herself while on the show, she said: “Yes, how competitive I am. I kind of knew that anyway.

“And that I like playing silly games. Things that I think I could do well on I get very competitive about, but other things I know I’ll be rubbish at.”

Taskmaster New Year’s Treat, Sunday January 1, 2023 at 9pm on Channel 4 and All 4.
