LOVE Island has become embroiled in a bullying row after Casa Amor boy Kodie Murphy was accused of homophobic abuse.
The 20-year-old Brummie was announced as one of the boy bombshells arriving in Majorca to shake things up.
Kodie Murphy has been accused of bullying a fellow pupil while at school
But one former school pupil isn’t happy at seeing the familiar face enter the villa.
Sharing Love Island’s introduction to Kodie, they wrote on Twitter: “What a way to end pride month, a boy who I went secondary school with who bullied me for being gay is put on love island.”
One user commented: “Oh my god that’s awful.”
Another said: “I second this. I’ve seen it happen from Kodie.”
A third posted: “Is this true? That’s not nice, hopefully he has grown since then. Teenagers can be something else.”
Love Island declined to comment.
The show has previously spoken of its zero tolerance approach to offensive and abusive language.
All Islanders are also given language and behaviour training before entering the villa.
Kodie is a social media marketer who describes himself as “cheeky, charismatic, and enthusiastic.”
When asked about which girl he has his eye on ahead of his Casa Amor entrance, Kodie named Jess Harding as his favourite.
He said: “Jess is my weak point as I do love a blonde”.
Kodie also admitted he does like the look of Manchester-based Leah Taylor.
He said: “Leah is a very pretty girl but Jess’ personality is stand-out for me. She can give good banter!”
Revealing how he was feeling about Casa Amor, Kodie said: “I love a challenge and can’t wait to bring my flirty, cheeky side out.”
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITVX and ITV2.
