Love Island set to sign basketball star Jordan Spencer for 2022 series

LOVE Island’s girls might need a step ladder in the villa this year – with towering basketball star Jordan Spencer poised to join the show.

The 27-year-old, who is 6ft2in, is in talks with ITV bosses over getting a place in this year’s series.

The sportsman is sure to be a hit if he makes it to the villa

He would follow in the footsteps of Ovie Soko, the gentle giant basketball star who was a huge hit with Love Island viewers back in 2019.

Jordan, who played for the London Lions basketball team, seems tailor-made for the show, which returns this summer.

He often appears topless on social media and would doubtless be a hit with viewers at home – as well as the girls in the villa.

A source told The Celeb Report: “It’s still too early to say whether Jordan is in the final line-up but bosses are keen.

“He’s been in talks to appear on Love Island and even met some of the producers who are working on the all-important cast list.”

The Celeb Report earlier revealed that bosses were in talks over signing hunky boxer Joshua Legrove.

A TV insider explained: “Joshua is a perfect fit for the show. Bosses are hoping he’ll follow in the footsteps of boxer Tommy Fury, who was a huge hit.”

We previously revealed that the show has also signed up beautician Sophie Draper, who dated Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash, for the upcoming series, which hits screens on Monday June 6.

Another name in the running is Turkish beauty Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, who has starred in a Turkish TV series, Kuzey Yildizi.

There has been the usual wave of applications to appear on the show, which transforms the lives of its biggest stars.

Those who have shot to stardom from the series include Molly-Mae Hague, Dani Dyer, Chris Hughes and Megan Barton Hanson.

Love Island opened applications at the start of the year and The Celeb Report revealed that Laura Whitmore had signed a £50,000 deal to host the upcoming series.
