Love Island’s Millie Court reveals her ‘real’ skin after decade-long battle with acne

LOVE Island winner Millie Court has opened up on her microneedling “journey” to combat her “severe” acne.

The ITV2 show star, 26, has always been candid about struggling with breakouts – and recently blasted vile keyboard bullies for sending her abuse about her acne.

Now Millie – who has reunited with Love Island partner Liam Reardon – has addressed her recent treatment.

The former ASOS buyer uploaded a selfie taken from her car seat, showing her face make-up free and with a reddened appearance.

She wrote in her caption: “Skin update. For those that don’t know I suffered with severe acne a few years back and it left me with deep scars, textured skin and an uneven surface.

“I still struggle with breakouts regularly which create new scars, so I’ve been on a journey with microneedling.

“I haven’t had it done for a couple of months because life has got in the way and I’ve been out of the country but today was my first session back which I plan to keep up.”

Addressing the inflamed look of her skin, Millie added: “This is my skin immediately after microneedling.

“This is totally normal and the redness will be significantly reduced by the morning.”

After tagging her clinic she added: “It’s a tough long old road when it comes to my skin but perserverence is key!”

Millie uploaded a second snap which saw her flashing a peace sign at the camera and admitting she “swears” by the treatment.

Microneedling uses small needles to prick the skin, with the injuries sparking the production of more collagen to create a smoother surface.

She then posted a candid ‘before’ picture – taken prior to her entry into the Mallorca villa – showing her “deep purple scars.”

Millie previously hit out after receiving a nasty message from a troll about her acne that “cut deeper than it should”.

The 2021 Love Island winner posted the horrible Instagram message online and warned her followers to always “be kind” to others.

Since finding fame on Love Island alongside her boyfriend Liam, Millie has spoken openly about her battle with acne.

In October 2021, she told her followers that she feared she will “never get rid of it” and bravely unveiled pictures of when her skin was at its worse.

The reality TV star hosted a Q&A session about the skin condition on her Instagram stories after admitting she had struggled with it for just over a year.

She revealed that she began suffering from adult acne in 2020 and “couldn’t figure out” what was causing the painful breakouts on her face.

After going to the dermatologist, it was discovered that the contraceptive implant was partly behind the spots, having affected the level of hormones in her body.

“I was also really bad at picking my skin,” Millie went on. “When you pick a spot with your fingers you are spreading it across your face, which made it worse.”
