Made In Chelsea’s Ollie Locke reveals he’s travelled to the US to begin IVF treatment

MADE In Chelsea favourite Ollie Locke has announced he’s heading to the US in a bid to start IVF treatment for a family.

The reality star, who has been on the show since the start 10 years ago, quietly tied the knot with husband Gareth during lockdown and now the pair are hoping to raise a child together.

Ollie and Gareth are hoping to have a baby via surrogate

In a statement posted on Instagram, Ollie and Gareth explained they were following the lead of “another Chelsea-based couple” by seeking medical help in the States.

They also added their trip falls under medical exemptions, allowing them to travel over to the States to parent a baby via surrogate.

They wrote: “To our amazing followers, The last year has been super tough on everyone and the joint effort of everyone has made a huge effect on all of us collectively getting past the restrictions and difficulties of Covid-19.

“Respectfully and excitingly we wanted to post and make an announcement that we have traveled across the world and under medical exemptions to begin our IVF and surrogacy journey.

“We know you have loved watching our journey so far and we can’t wait to take you on the adventure with us on the other side of the world and with any luck we might have some very good news for you in the coming months!”

The statement ended: “We hope our followers understand and support us in this journey and that you appreciate the circumstances that have allowed us to travel outside of a normal situation.”

Both Gareth and Ollie have spoken on Made In Chelsea about their plans for a baby, stating they would both provide sperm to inseminate an egg, with neither knowing the identity of the actual father once fertilisation is complete.

The process is similar to that of How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka, who now have daughter Harper and son Gideon, both 10.

They’re aware that they have each technically fathered one of the babies each, but refer to them as ‘the twins’ and don’t know which is biologically theirs.

Made In Chelsea is currently available on Channel 4 OD.
