The pair said the ‘outcome could have been very different’

Ruby and her boyfriend Nicholas Sinclair were taken to hospital in an ambulance to get a blood test to determine how much they had inhaled.

She told fans: “Last night was really scary, our carbon monoxide alarm went off and the fire brigade immediately turned up.

“They used a reader to detect high carbon monoxide levels in our house.

“They said we had to get out immediately and sent us in an ambulance to A&E to have our blood taken to check how much we could have inhaled.”

She explained: “Carbon monoxide is a gas that can kill you quickly and is called ‘the silent killer’ because it is colourless, odourless, tasteless and non-irritating.

“If the early signs of co-poisoning are ignored, a person may lose consciousness and in many causes you could just not wake up….”

Although the pair escaped unharmed, Ruby admitted that the outcome could have been very different.

“Luckily after blood tests and being seen by doctors we were given the all clear to go home (after making sure our house was thoroughly ventilated),” she continued.

“I can’t stress enough to anyone reading this how important it is to get a carbon monoxide alarm in your house.

“We were told if we had left it much longer and we were exposed to a lot more carbon monoxide then outcome would have been very different.”

Looking exhausted, the TV star shared a photo of them in the hospital waiting room and reassured fans that they were safe and well.

The brunette beauty then urged her followers to invest in a carbon monoxide alarm, as it could save lives.

“Us at 4am in A&E, very thankful we are both fine,” she wrote.

“I wanted to share this with you all to highlight how important it is to make sure all your alarms are working correctly and to install a carbon monoxide alarm.

“Last night everything seemed trivial bar being healthy…I’m feeling very grateful for the NHS today. Sending love to everyone.”

Ruby went public with her new relationship over Christmas, sharing a series of sweet snaps on social media.

The Chelsea star recently split from on-off boyfriend of eight-years Reza Amiri-Garroussi after growing unhappy in their relationship.
