He has been slowly recovering from a stroke
The path to a full recovery has been long and strenuous
ITV viewers have been keeping an eye on Marlon’s health for several months after the beloved character suffered from a horrific stroke.
Getting back on track has been somewhat of an uphill battle for Marlon as he struggled to walk and fend for himself.
This prompted his wife Rhona (Zoe Henry) and daughter April (Amelia Flanagan) to step in and take care of him.
Marlon was even taken to his own wedding by best pal Paddy Dingle in a wheelchair.
But since then, Marlon has made considerable progress which prompts him to make a big move next week as he gets back to driving a car.
Coming up, Marlon’s apprehensive at the prospect of collecting his specially adapted car.
After a grilling from Rhona and his mother-in-law Mary (Louise Jameson), a worried Marlon agrees to try getting back behind the wheel.
He is anxious as he prepares to drive for the first time since his stroke – how will it go?
Marlon won’t be the only one making a big decision for the future as Mary will also be thinking about getting back into the dating pool following her ordeal with scammer Faye.
Rhona encourages Mary to get back on the dating scene but she’s hesitant after her ordeal and she puts on a brave face as she prepares herself for Faye’s trial.
Later on, after attending the trial and to prove she is moving on, she nonchalantly claims to have a date the following day leaving Rhona and Marlon impressed.
However, when she’s questioned about her upcoming date, Mary’s cagey behaviour spells trouble.
Could Mary be hiding something?
