Viewers did not believe he should be a “MasterChef” because he mainly cooked “Asian cuisine” on the show

Tonight’s episode saw the budding chefs prepare more unique dishes of their choice.

They also discussed their journey’s in the competition so far with judges, Gregg Wallace, 63 and John Torode, 62.

Anurag has been a consistent contender throughout the series, and his passion of Asian cuisine is evident in the magnificent dishes he’s prepared.

For his chosen meal, Anurag decided to rustle up a Dum Biryani –  a style of biryani originating from Hyderabad, India made with basmati rice and meat (mostly mutton).

John asked: “Anurag, are you loving MasterChef in a way you never thought possible?”

Anurag replied ecstatically: “Absolutely! I love it. I never loved anything else like this.”

But viewers were not impressed with Anurag, and said he didn’t “deserve” to win because he’s only cooked Asian cuisine throughout the competition.

Taking to Twitter one viewer raged: “If you can only cook your native cuisine every f*****g round then you can’t be called a MasterChef!!!!”

Another quipped: “Anurag cooking a curry, didn’t see that coming.”

A third complained: “Anurag just isn’t versatile. So annoying!”

A fourth penned: “I like Anurag, really, and his Indian restaurant will be spectacular one day, but he’s really not demonstrated much flexibility of style and genre.”

A fifth fumed: “Asian food! Again!”
