Mastermind fans go wild for ‘absolute legend’ contestant as he reveals his specialist subject

MASTERMIND fans have gone wild for an ‘absolute legend’ contestant after he revealed his specialist subject.

Monday’s edition of the BBC show saw four members of the public take to the famous black chair to answer questions on their specialist subjects followed by a general knowledge round.

Mastermind viewers were loving an ‘absolute legend’ of a contestant during Monday’s episode

Patrick Wilson wore a statement shirt and his specialist subject was ‘drum and bass in the 1990s’

Third up was Patrick Wilson who stood out against the black background in a brightly coloured tie-dye shirt.

Patrick’s specialist subject was ‘Drum & Bass in the 1990s’ and as Clive Myrie asked the questions, Patrick concentrated hard, squinting as he quickly thought about his answers.

One of his questions was: “What club night on Thursdays in Heaven in London with Fabio and Grooverider, founded in 1988, was key to the jungle and drum base genres?” which he got correct with the answer “Rage”.

Viewers at home were loving Patrick’s appearance and subject choice, and took to Twitter to heap praise on him.

One wrote: “Can tell this dude love to rave. He’s really struggling with natural light and the lack of strobe #mastermind.”

Another joked: “Specialist Subject? ‘90’s Drum & Base. Yep.”

A third added: “Specialist subject ‘1990’s drum n bass’ of course it is! #Mastermind.”

Another tweeted simply: “What an absolute legend. #Mastermind.”

Meanwhile a fellow viewer said: “I want to go raving with this chap, legend #Mastermind.”

Patrick did well in his specialist knowledge round and again in the general knowledge one, and it ended up being a tie-break between him and fellow contestant Alice.

But in the end, Alice beat Patrick by one point, scoring 27 to his 26.
