After a short break away from the small screen, Sarah will be back in a Pitch Perfect spin-off series.

The Peacock show is set several years after the Pitch Perfect 3 film and will see Adam Devine and Flula Borg reprise their roles as Bumper Allen and Pieter Krämer.

Sarah will play a new character called Heidi who has been described as: “Pieter and Bumper’s cheery and slightly odd American assistant.

“While working on Bumper’s team by day, she secretly harbours dreams of being a singer-songwriter herself and moonlights by performing original songs in a Berlin cabaret.”

They will be joined on the show by The Good Place’s Jameela Jamil, who will play Gisela.

The character is an up-and-coming German popstar who is also Pieter’s ex-girlfriend and Bumper’s main competition at the German Unity Day concert.

Jameela, 36, played Tahani Al-Jamil in The Good Place alongside Kristen Bell and Ted Danson until the show came to an end in January 2020.

The Pitch Perfect series will see Bumper travel to Germany in a bid to revive his music career after one of his songs becomes a huge hit there.

Susan Rovner, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming’s chairman of entertainment content, said: “Our upcoming Pitch Perfect series is another example of the unmatched synergy NBCUniversal is able to expand upon with our wide-ranging library of IP.

“When we saw the opportunity to create a series for Pitch Perfect with [executive producers] Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman and Paul Brooks plus more earworm classics for super fans to enjoy, we jumped at it.

“And to top it off, we are so fortunate that Adam Devine is headlining the series and bringing fans the quirky, laugh-out-loud sensibility they loved in the film franchise.”

The first Pitch Perfect film was released in 2012 and starred the likes of Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson.

A sequel was released in 2015 while the third film in the trilogy premiered in 2017.
